CNC Programmer

POSITION SUMMARY

Mid-level CNC Programmer is responsible for independently creating, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs.

Collaborates with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency and quality.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for various machines.

· Interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.

· Set up machines and perform test runs.

· Select appropriate tools and materials for jobs.

· Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machine issues.

· Maintain records and documentation for programs and setups.

· Train and mentor entry-level programmers and operators.

POSITION SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

· Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit).

· Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC operations.

· Ability to modify programs for efficiency and quality.

· Problem-solving and analytical skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Associate’s degree in CNC programming or related field preferred.

· 2-5 years of CNC programming experience.

· Experience with mills, lathes, and routers.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle, and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
