Description

Sko-Die, a TMA member company, is seeking a CNC Operator to add to our team in Morton Grove, IL. The CNC Operator will set up and operate CNC mills, Counterbore and Countersink machines to run production parts as assigned.

 

Job Functions:

  • Reads and interprets specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, or tool description, and operation sequences from job travelers.
  • Machine parts to specifications and verify their conformance.
  • Functional knowledge using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
  • Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Inputs labor and inspection results into data collection terminals.
  • Ability to perform setups, maintain offsets and tool changes in production environment.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance tasks maintaining coolant levels, general housekeeping of work cell.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Requires a High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have knowledge of set-up and operation of machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine, machining center, and grinders.
  • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
