Headquartered in suburban Chicago; RCM Industries, Inc. is one of the largest privately-owned custom aluminum die casting companies in North America.
This position involves set up on various CNC machine types (horizontal, vertical, lathe, etc.) and program edits at the control if necessary. The CNC Programmer is responsible for establishing, documenting, and maintaining the optimum machining and peripheral equipment settings and adjustments necessary to produce quality parts in accordance with control plans and production requirements.
Work closely with CNC Manager and other department personnel to improve quality and efficiency.
Read and interpret blue prints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Assist in training CNC operators.
Trouble shoot programs and improve cycle times.
Review tooling and department supplies and issue purchase requisitions to replenish.
May assist in develop sales quotations.
May be required to supervise department during absence of CNC Supervisor.
Assist other departments as necessary when machining is involved.
Education Requirements: High school diploma. Bachelor's degree in technical field a plus.
Must have strong math skills and thorough understanding of machining, fixturing, tooling, and gaging.
Write CNC G coded programs manually a must. Understanding of Master CAM preferred, but we will train the right individual.
Experience in machining of die cast aluminum preferred.
Computer literate, including the use of any CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Solid Works etc.) preferred
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical trouble shooting strongly preferred (ability to tear down CNC machine and fix it).
