Description

Glass Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing and CNC Operator candidate with prior experience in the Construction Industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience. The Manufacturing and CNC Operator will perform work activities in relation to the glass and glazing façade industry to include fabrication and assembly of aluminum frames, glazing, trimming and bunking/crating, as well as operating computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts.

MANUFACTURING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but not limited to:

  • Unload, inspect, tag and organize aluminum stock lengths, glass, panels, accessories and other materials.
  • Sort, inspect and prepare fabricated materials within each manufacturing station.
  • Cutting, fabrication, pre-assembly, assembly, glazing, trimming, cleaning, packaging and loading of curtain wall, storefront and window components and/or pre-glazed curtain wall units.
  • Quality control of finished products to meet industry standards and/or project specifications.
  • Set up equipment accurately, safely and carry out regular maintenance as per maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, tools and supplies in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.

 

CNC OPERATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but not limited to:

  • Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
  • Regularly performs milling, drilling, tapping, de-burring and sawing.
  • Performs inspection of machined products and documents results.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
  • Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
  • Revise programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that that problems have been solved.
  • Analyze job packet, drawings, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Write instruction sheets and cut lists for a machine’s controller to guide setup and encode numerical controls.
  • Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.
  • Enter computer commands to store or retrieve parts patterns, graphic displays, or programs that transfer data to other media.
  • Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Determine reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations, and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures.
  • Sort shop orders into groups to maximize materials utilization and minimize machine setup time.
  • Compare programing with original part specifications and fabrication drawings to verify accuracy of instructions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or minor repairs on machines.
  • Prepare geometric layouts from graphic displays, using computer-assisted drafting software or drafting instruments and graph paper.
  • Draw machine tool paths with design tools and follow guidelines for tool speed and efficiency.
  • Enter coordinates of hole locations into program memories with design tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma required.
  • A minimum 3 years related industry experience.
  • Skills / Aptitude
    • Ability to plan and prepare for daily / weekly / monthly workload and organize work area accordingly.
    • Reading and comprehension of shop and parts drawings.
    • Skilled in using hand and power tools such as drill, saw, grinders, drill press and jig saw.
    • Reading a tape measure to the 32nd of an inch.
    • Forklift and overhead crane use and operation.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • English speaking and writing.
  • CNC Programmer capabilities a plus.
  • HAAS and Emmegi CNC machine experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • AutoDesk Fusion, BIM 360 and Emmegi software (CAM+, JOB, SHAPE).
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Reliable and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide recommendations and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Microsoft Office and office 365 experience.
