WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday 1:00pm - 10:30pm AND Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm

**Must be available to train on 1st shift (M - F, 5:30am - 2pm)**

Job Summary: As a Metal Cutting Facility Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in cutting and shaping metal components according to specified dimensions. This role involves precision work, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of high-quality metal parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Operation:
    • Operate various metal cutting machines such as CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, water jets, and bandsaws.
    • Set up machines based on job requirements, ensuring accurate dimensions and specifications.
  2. Material Handling:
    • Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto and from cutting machines and onto and from storage racking.
    • Ensure proper material alignment and secure clamping to prevent errors in cutting.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Inspect finished pieces for adherence to specifications and quality standards.
    • Make adjustments to machines as necessary to maintain precision and quality.
    • Adhere to Housekeeping and 5S standards.
  4. Maintenance:
    • Report and troubleshoot any malfunctions or issues with machinery.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (safety boots, eye protection, arm protection
  6. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, materials used, and time spent on each job.
    • Document any issues or deviations from the standard operating procedures.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with other team members, including shift leads, operations lead, quality control, and maintenance personnel, to ensure smooth workflow.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding job progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in metal fabrication is a plus.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Basic computer skills for machine programming and data entry.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy materials as required in the job.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and potentially hazardous environment.
