Academic Policies

Absences
A maximum of 4 (four) absences are allowed for each registered course. If a student has more than 4 absences, they will need to take a FINAL EXAM, and pass with a score of 70% or above, in order to receive their certificate. The cost to take the FINAL EXAM is $75.00 (non-refundable). If a student exceeds the permitted number of absences, subject to Symbol Training Institute's discretion, that student will be dropped from the class without any refund.

Tardiness
During any class period (lecture/shop), attendance will be taken at the beginning and end of class. If a student is less than 30 minutes late to class, it will count as 1 (one) tardy. If a student is tardy 2 (two) times, it will count as 1 (one) absence. If a student is more than 30 minutes late, he will be considered absent.

Rules of Conduct
Symbol Training Institute adheres to a strict "No cheating policy." If a student is found cheating or aiding someone else in cheating, this will serve as constructive notice to Symbol Training Institute of a student's withdrawal from the class without any refund of fees or tuition.
