Before coming to Symbol, Reggie Clark was working in water operations and looking for an opportunity to build a new career. Through Symbol’s partnership with the Job Center of Lake County, Reggie received funding to enroll in the CNC 205: Programming, Setup & Operation program through .
During his training, Reggie applied his skills in a real-world, hands-on environment, learning to operate, set up, and program CNC machines and developing transferable skills he leveraged into a new job. Today, Reggie works as a CNC Mill Operator at Harger in Grayslake, Illinois, putting what he learned into practice and continuing to grow his CNC skills.
“I’ve started my career and can’t wait to further my education on CNC machines.” Looking back, Reggie’s advice to himself is simple: “I should’ve taken the CNC and quality control classes a long time ago.”
Reggie’s biggest motivation is his family. He’s focused on taking care of his kids and making them proud. His story is a great example of what’s possible when workforce funding, hands-on training, and local employers come together. We are proud of Reggie and grateful for Lake County helping residents access training and opportunities in manufacturing.
Congratulations, Reggie!
