Success Story: From Setback to New Opportunity

After a serious motorcycle accident left him hospitalized and unexpectedly unemployed, Kyle knew it was time for a change. His previous job involved heavy machinery, and after the accident, he wasn’t confident he could safely return to that kind of work. Rather than settling, he decided to pivot into a new industry with long-term potential and that decision led him to Symbol.

At Symbol, he gained a strong foundation in CNC machining, learning how to operate equipment and understand the core practices needed to succeed in manufacturing. More importantly, the training gave him confidence and a clear path forward in a field where skills and knowledge truly matter.

Today, he is working at CGR Technologies in Elk Grove, building a career in manufacturing with room to grow. Unlike his previous role, which had limited opportunities for advancement, CNC machining has opened the door to continuous learning and upward mobility. As he puts it, there’s “no upper limit” to what he can achieve.

Outside of work, he enjoys using his new skills to repair, modify, and improve things, turning everyday projects into something more useful or more fun. It’s a passion that reflects how deeply he’s embraced his new craft.

When asked what advice he would give his pre-training self, his answer is simple: “You won’t regret it.” He also shares an important message for future students: show up, pay attention, and take the learning seriously because this is a knowledge-based field where understanding what you’re doing truly matters.

His journey is a powerful reminder that even after a major setback, the right training and commitment can open the door to a stronger, more rewarding future.
